Leigh serves as the Treasurer and is responsible for overseeing the organisation’s financial management, governance, and long-term sustainability. He brings a practical, detail-focused approach to his role, ensuring that resources are managed responsibly and transparently.

Leigh has worked closely with Alex since the early days of the organisation, supporting its development and growth over several years.

 

Known for his reliability and dry sense of humour, he is a steady presence on the trustee board and plays a key role in maintaining strong financial foundations for the organisation’s work.

Leigh's favourite sandwich is ribeye steak. No sauce, no salad.

Cathy is our founding Trustee Chair and a retired learning disability nurse and medical educator, with extensive experience in the third sector and higher education. She was once Alex’s personal tutor during his nursing studies and has supported KTS since its earliest beginnings. Cathy has volunteered with local learning disability charities and actively supports Kent organisations working with neurodivergent individuals.

 

Passionate about the natural environment, she enjoys wildlife photography, long-distance walking (often with her miniature dachshund Bertie), music, theatre, reading, cooking, and live performance. Her favourite sandwiches are smoked salmon and cream cheese, and banana with peanut butter (separately!)

Charlotte joined the Board of Trustees in Autumn of 2025. By day, she is a solicitor working in commercial law, however has been part of a wide variety of charities alongside this, from sporting organisations to students unions and many more. Throughout this, she has been a volunteer, an employee and an advisor to the Board and is excited to implement all that she has learned as a Trustee.

In addition to her own involvement in the charity, she is also delighted to be part of the first trustee- volunteer duo, with her younger sister a mental health nursing student also joining the team as a volunteer!

Jen is the newest Trustee of KTS and was honoured to take on the role. She works as Community Engagement Officer at Wave Community Bank, tackling financial exclusion through partnerships with local charities and schools, and also runs her own events business, championing local artisans through Christmas markets. Jen holds a degree in Business Studies and Marketing from Canterbury Christ Church University.

 

She first met Alex at a university sports day and was instantly inspired by KTS’s work, later inviting him to speak and beatbox at a conference. A long-time volunteer, she is active in the Dover community and makes sure biscuits are never forgotten at meetings.
